Musicians hailing from 18 countries and 16 Indian states are set to gather in Bengaluru for the Brillante Piano Festival organized by Chokkapan S. The city of Bengaluru has a strong sense of community and appreciation for various forms of arts and culture, according to Khyochano TCK, a Naga pianist who is bringing the festival to the city. The festival aims to unite musicians from diverse backgrounds for a shared purpose and vision, taking advantage of Bengaluru's vibrant cultural scene. Starting in Kohima, Nagaland in 2017, the festival will feature performances, workshops, competitions, and masterclasses in genres like jazz, contemporary, and classical music. A special platform is dedicated to Specially Abled Musicians (SAM) to promote inclusivity and admiration rather than attention for individuals with special needs. The festival emphasizes the coming together of artists worldwide with a common goal, as stated by the festival director, Khyochano TCK. Prior to the event, organizers held a street piano event on Church Street that showcased community engagement through music, highlighting the transformative power of artistic expressions in bridging diverse communities.
